JOB SUMMARY
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) administers nursing care in an
outpatient facility or clinic under the supervision of a registered
nurse or other medical supervisor. Takes patient history and
performs initial physical evaluation of patient's condition.
Provides basic medical care, including changing bandages,
administering prescribed medication, and collecting specimens. May
be responsible for patient triage.

- Utilizes the nursing process to adapt interventions to meet
age-appropriate care, including physical, psychosocial, and
spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health

- Implements and evaluates care interventions, delegates
appropriately and ensures documentation of interventions. - - -

- Evaluates progress towards the prescribed plan of care and
coordinates care with clinic providers and intervenes as necessary.

- Educates patient and families regarding current health status,
plan of care, and anticipated outcomes. - - - -
- Ensures superior ongoing patient satisfaction and customer
service. - - - -
- Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization
skills. - - - -
- Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice,
staffing and continuing education. - - - -
- Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability. - - -

- Maintains a clean and safe environment. - - - -
- May be required to work in other clinic environments according
to distribution of staff and patient loads. - - - -
- Complies with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program
including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and

- The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and
all certifications and licenses as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, CPI,
CPR) to maintain professional license. The LPN practices within the
framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses
Association professional standards and National Patient Safety

- Licensed professionals must strictly adhere to the ethical code

- Ability to assess a patient's condition, formulate a plan of
care, select appropriate interventions, evaluate patient response

- Computer Knowledge including the ability to enter material into

and apply developmental theories/concepts when planning and
