Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.The Fire Sprinkler Journeyman performs tasks at various job sites. The role requires a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in commercial and industrial buildings. The Fire Sprinkler Journeyman requires advanced knowledge of fire protection codes and standards, local AHJ requirements, and safety protocols to ensure that sprinkler systems are operational and meet all regulatory requirements. The Journeyman will work closely with other professionals to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.This position is responsible for transforming raw materials into fabricated sprinkler system components. The Fabricator's job duties include cutting, welding, threading, and grooving various types of pipes and tubing.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: -

• Utilize fabrication instruction sheets to fabricate sprinkler system components to be installed by field crews.
• Perform grooving and pipe cutting on carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe by operating grooving machines and plasma cutters.
• Utilize threading machine to prepare pipe for threaded fittings.
• Assemble threaded fittings.
• Responsible for daily housekeeping of work area.
• Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
• Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer's safety instructions for that equipment.
• Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment. -
• Assist with preparing/loading the finished products for shipment.
• Perform other duties within the Fabrication Shop or other department as necessary.Education/Qualification: - -
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of Fire Sprinkler Experience required
  • Ability to read and utilize a measuring tape, blueprints, and work packets to construct materials.
  • Ability to utilize basic shop math.
  • Ability to utilize hand tools such as wrenches, socket sets, and a grinder.
  • Demonstrates strong commitment to creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Solid decision making and problem-solving skills and good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
  • Strong work ethic, desire for a long-term career, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in close proximity to bright and uneven/flickering light from welding flashing and sparks from the plasma cutter.Other Duties:
